🜄 THE SECOND POUR: WHEN THINGS GOT WEIRD
If the first goblin pours were curious, gentle, and slightly confused, the second pours were… well. They were chaos.
After the first resin cured around each goblin, the Guild; in a moment of pure gremlin curiosity, decided to add a second layer to both the pyramid and the cube.
This is where the resin began to have opinions.
The photos from this stage show the aftermath: warping, join lines, distortions, bubbles trapped like ancient spirits, and two very patient goblins who endured more than they ever signed up for.

The Pyramid — No Room for Air, No Room for Sense
The pyramid had almost no space left for air to escape. When the second pour went in, the resin pressed inward, pushing the goblin into a strange, warped dimension.
You can see it in the photos:
- the figure stretched and distorted
- the tint deepened unpredictably
- bubbles froze in place like tiny runes
- the whole shape bent light in odd directions
It wasn’t wrong. It was simply resin being resin: dramatic, moody, and unwilling to behave.
This pour taught the Guild that air needs somewhere to go, or it will make its own choices.

The Cube — The Join Line of Destiny
The cube had more space, but the second pour still left its mark.
A distinct join line formed—a visible seam where the first pour ended and the second began. The tint shifted. The bubbles changed shape. The goblin looked like it was drifting between two layers of time.
In the photos, you can see:
- the clear boundary between pours
- the way the resin refracts differently above and below the join
- the goblin appearing almost fossilised
- the cube acting like a tiny geological core sample
This pour taught the Guild that resin layers behave like strata—each one with its own mood, its own clarity, its own story.

Why These Second Pours Matter
These weren’t failures. They were teachers.
They taught us:
- how second pours interact with cured resin
- how pressure affects shape and distortion
- how tinting stacks and deepens
- how bubbles behave when trapped between layers
- how join lines form and become part of the story
- how resin can warp a goblin into a dream creature
Most importantly, they taught the Guild that resin is a living medium—unpredictable, dramatic, and full of personality.
These two goblin test pieces walked (or floated) so future deep pours could run.
Pull up a stool, traveller. The next lantern is the reflection.
